A simple decision to protect your family, home, and other assets can help increase your chances of being one of the survivors of a wildfire.

We work with you to create a defensible space. A safe space around your home that reduces the danger of wildfire while maintaining its beauty.

From a firefighter's perspective, we specialize in creating defensible space from first responders' eyes. We take a detailed look at your property and evaluate how to give it the best chance of survival during a wildfire.

Fire is a natural part of the ecosystem but can become dangerous if not controlled or prepared for it. To prevent wildfires from causing damage, we create defensible fire zones around your home. A defensible fire zone is a buffer that helps keep the fire further from your house until firefighters arrive on the scene.

What is a defensible fire zone?

A defensible fire zone is a designated area of land that is clear of all flammable materials and maintained in that condition. The zone should be clear of debris, branches, and other combustible materials. It should also be mowed and watered to ensure it's in good shape whenever a wildfire threatens the area.

If you live in an area with a high risk of wildfires, you should ensure your property is surrounded by at least 100 feet of defensible space. You should keep trees, brush, ladder fuels, and dead grass away from your home—or remove them altogether.

Defensible fire zones are recommended for wildfire preparedness.

Defensible fire zones, which homeowners and communities can create, help protect homes from wildfires. They can reduce the risk of wildfires and prevent their spread in and around neighborhoods.
